Day 6 of the $7,500,000 XL Inferno Championships played host to another 11 events, and amazingly Brazil’s “LeoJoseCarne” captured two of those titles. You can read about his wins in the $10,000 Lightning 6-Max and $15,000 Swordfish below.

Lightning Strikes for “LeoJoseCarne”

Event #67 $10,000 Lightning 6-Max drew 82 players, which surpassed the advertised guarantee by creating an $11,800 prize pool. It took seven hours and 19 minutes before Brazil’s “LeoJoseCarne” came out on top for $3,215.50.

Finishing second was Russia’s “toshapiter86,” who didn’t have to wait long for redemption as he would go on to win Event #69 $15,000 Deepstack Swordfish (640 players/$17,600 prize pool) four hours later for $3,324.64.

“LeoJoseCarne” Strikes Again

At the same time, he was winning the Lightning, “LeoJoseCarne” was busy topping a field of 608 players to also win Event #71 $15,000 Swordfish, that score good for $3,158.40.

This time to win, “LeoJoseCarne” defeated Belarus’ “LaGushatnik” in heads-up play. If that name sounds familiar, that’s because it wasn’t “LaGushatnik’s” first final table of the XL Inferno. On Day 1, he finished sixth in Event #2 $45,000 Sunday Breeze for $2,415, and the next day placed fifth in Event #22 $20,000 Monsoon for $1,892.

Day6 XL Inferno Champions

Day 6 of the XL Inferno crowned 11 more winners, each of who locked up a seat into the XL Champion of Champions tournament. Thus far, 76 seats have been awarded for that event which will see three lucky winners receive packages to the 2017 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.

Day#7 – Crazy Eights Aplenty

On Saturday, another 13 events are on tap with buy-ins ranging $8.80 all the way up to $215. That includes our regular slate of tournaments such as the “Octopus,” “Monsoon,” and $30,000 Saturday Challenge.

Also on the schedule are three Crazy 8 events. The first two – Event #86 $88,000 Crazy 8 and Event #87 $20,000 Mini Crazy 8 – both kick off at 18:00, and two hours later at 20:00 Event #90 $15,000 Turbo Crazy 8 gets underway.

Those Crazy Eight events feature buy-ins of $88, $8.80, and $55 respectively and start players with 8,888 in chips.
