After a successful outing in 2023, 888poker recently wrapped its all-mystery-bounty festival series. For the second year in a row, it was a tremendous success. The 2024 Mystery Bounty Festival kicked off on Sunday, March 17 and wrapped up on Tuesday, March 26

The series catered g to 22,846 combined entrants over its 26 numbered tournaments.

  • Brazilian players dominated the series by capturing nine titles, including a stretch where they won five events in a row!
  • Players from the United Kingdom accounted for four titles.
  • Germany took home two titles.
  • Single titles went to players hailing from Mexico, Argentina, Ukraine, Montenegro, Romania, Vietnam, Denmark, Ireland, and Belarus.

Day 1 flights for the $215 buy-in, $300K GTD Mystery Bounty Main Event ran throughout and attracted 1,394 players who rebought 203 times. The 1,597-entry field surpassed the guarantee by creating a $319,400 prize pool, which included a top bounty prize of $30,000.

That went to New Zealand’s “Flopzilla_XD”, who finished in 46th place for $508.20. Along with $225 in other bounties they walked away with $30,733.20 in prize money - the second-highest score in the tournament.

Others to nab big bounties were “CPU0r” (6th place for $5,386.92 + $15,675 in bounties), “AlCunningham” (19th place for $796.18 + $12,450 in bounties), “KaizenStyle” (7th place for $4,048.66 + $7,687.50 in bounties), and “FoldestJaEh” (147th place for $338.80 + $6,112.50 in bounties).

On Monday, March 25, 251 players returned for Day 2 action. Among those to make relatively deep runs were the following –

  • “RyckAA” (27th place for $660.66 + $412.50 in bounties)
  • “Clay_Born” (20th place for $796.18 + $787.50 in bounties)
  • “MUIAMAN777” (17th place for $1,050.28 + $4,312.50 in bounties)
  • “monzemann” (9th place for $2,337.72 + $1,050 in bounties)

The final table of eight then went on an overnight hiatus with Romania’s “MMDpoker1” and their stack of 3,882,204 leading the way. Germany’s “kellerassel0” (2,822,876) and fellow Romanian “AnitaKiraly” (2,504,920) both sat above two million.

Brazilians “doga10” (1,881,714) and “QdEqTeCalaz” (1,877,446) sat in fourth and fifth place respectively. “CPU0r” (1,372,100).and Brazil’s “KaizenStyle” (1,133,215) were both in seven-figure territory, while Ukraine’s “Sheglov” sat on the short stack with 495,525.

Léo “KaizenStyle” Jokura is a member of the 888poker StreamTeam and put in a strong showing for the title but finished in 7th place.

On Tuesday, the final table returned to battle it out on a live-stream, and surprisingly the chip leader was the first to fall exiting in eighth place for $3,066.14. While the chip leader fell from grace, the short stack rose from the bottom to win it all as “Sheglov” bested “doga10” in heads-up play.

The Ukrainian claimed a $24,749.34 first-place prize, which along with $10,087.50 in bounties gave them a tournament-high $34,836.84.

On Sunday, March 24, Day 2 of the $25 buy-in Event #23: $50,000 Mystery Bounty Mini Event played out. The tournament had attracted 2,200 players who rebought 536 times throughout the opening flights, which surpassed the guarantee by creating a $62,928 prize pool.

The top bounty of $5,000 went to Montenegro’s “zendayushka”, who busted in 51st place for $87.23. Along with some other bounties they won a tournament-high $5,364.83 in prize money.

Others to claim big bounties were the following –

  • “Zindane” (61st place for $79.64 + $3,277.60 in bounties)
  • “PseudoReg” (41st place for $94.82 + $2,070.70 in bounties)
  • “5veBetFold” (16th place for $189.64 + $1,270.70 in bounties)

The final three players worked a deal that ultimately saw them each walk away with nearly $4,000 in total prize money.

But there had to be an official winner and that wound up being Germany’s “Timotobias”.

On the first day of the series, Brazil’s “Alysson1994” topped an 859-entry field to win the $55 buy-in Event #2: $40,000 Mystery Bounty Opening Mid for$4,693.03.

Two days later, they became a two-time champion by also taking down the $55 buy-in Event #8: $15,000 Mystery Bounty, a tournament that drew 219 players who rebought 72 times for a 291-entry field.

Not only did “Alysson1994” win the tournament for $1,520.25, but they also laid claim to the $1,500 top bounty along with $858.66 in other bounties for a total payday of $3,878.91.

On Sunday, March 24, the $109 buy-in Event #20: $30,000 Mystery Bounty High had 300 players rebuy 72 times, which cruised by the guarantee by generating a $37,200 prize pool.

That included a top bounty prize of $3,000 that went to Montenegro’s “Savchenko1.”, who also finished in 13th place for $197.58 for a total payout of $3,197.58.
